I was wondering if the banners carried by Applebies, Patty’s Dance School and some other profit organizations are contributing to the expense or are they just getting free advertising at the publics expense. I think our parade is the highlight of the year but just wondered about this situation. Years ago Sir Speedy Press of Paramus had a antique car in the parade and they were throwing what t seemed to be candy but it was a small rolled up paper advertising their company. Children were chasing after this candy and to everyone’s surprise it wasn’t candy. I wrote a letter to the parade committee to stop this.
Any comments on this would be appreciated.

What is the current council doing to improve parking in dowtown Ridewood.
The Mayor and Council are comtempating a parking garage probably three stories high Well Associates have purchased the property of the old “Town Garage”..I don’t know what their idea is but I assume it is to sell the property back to the Village and then have Wells hired as the architecs to plan the garage. They are the same firm that is trying to take over the Pease Library for ten years for no rent except to repair the building to its original condition. Cost to be approx ONE Million dollars.. I beleive if we do this and let them occupy the library, lets have another estimate for the rtepairs and a contract of what has to be done!
Parking is a problem because we have too many eateries. Resturants and Coffee shop customrs spend much time in their establishments unlike banks or most retail stores whose transactions take few minutes.
